Melyssa is the CEO of the non-profit organization called L.E.S.S. Is More; Smart Cookies Don’t Crumble was created to be the charity’s “moving message”: A site that will help to educate and answer questions today’s youth may have on a myriad of different issues and a place that can serve to open up dialogue between parents and their children on difficult topics of conversation.
Melyssa was born in Toronto, Canada and now resides in New York City, she is a former model and budding philanthropist. In her spare time she works on her bowling arm, and is set on one day changing the world!
Bethany Ocansey is a freelance writer who was born and raised in England, U.K. She was educated in London and New York and is currently writing her first book, an autobiographical novel. Prior to this she worked in the media field, in the area of television, radio and music, taught English as a second language at a community college in Brooklyn, and even had a short stint in financial investment after graduating with her MS. Her hobbies are horse-riding and traveling, especially to her father’s country, Ghana, West Africa. She currently resides in Brooklyn.
Cataanda James is passionate about all things beauty! She’s a celebrity makeup artist and hairstylist currently based in Washington DC. As a freelance artist consulting for L’Oreal and many of the worlds top beauty companies, Cataanda J – the educator teaches you to embrace your beauty! You will often hear her say, “I love the kids”, and it shows. Since 2009 she’s been a guest speaker for the YMCA summer camp program where she teaches kids ages 5-15 the importance of a healthy beauty regimen and proper hygiene. She also volunteers her time and services with the girls of Boys Hope, Girls Hope and the youth at New Psalmist Baptist Church.

Jimmy F. McClain is a public school teacher in Memphis City, Shelby County and DeSoto County school districts. He holds a MBA in management, and a BBA in Marketing. He has worked in a career awareness program to help at risk high school juniors and seniors assimilate into the workforce and in November of 2010, Jimmy was one of 25 people chosen to shoot segments on the Trinity Broadcasting Network chronicling the advantages of teaching, working, or taking classes at Christian universities and colleges as opposed to the traditional four-year college.
Jimmy was a former professional basketball player and coach, and continues to be an avid writer.
